Florence Blackwell started as a wreath maker in 1973. She worked every holiday making evergreen wreaths, garland, centerpieces, swags and would produce thousands of wreaths every season.

Florence opened her own business in l989, specializing in dried arrangements, eucalyptus, manzanita wreaths, custom orders, fresh flowers as well as producing arrangements for weddings, anniversaries, birthdays, funerals.

For the past 5 years, Florence has traveled the front range of Colorado during the summer months, May through October, participating in 3 Farmers Markets, Woodland Park, Monument and Manitou Springs. Florence grows and propagates wide variety of herbs, perennials, xeriscape plants, ornamental grasses.

Known in Colorado as the "Flower Lady", and she has done a lot of custom scaping of flower gardens, raised beds, planters. She enjoys the challenge of growing unusual plants and herbs. She also has numerous contracts with office buildings on the front range, and periodically schedules flower shows for the employees.

Florence received her Master Gardener Certificate from the University of Colorado in 2004.

She enjoys helping schools and private organization with fundraisers during the holiday and other seasons. And enjoys solving gardening problems. Talking with patrons at the Farmers Markets about problem gardens has become quite a challenge and a source of enjoyment for her.
